This bread recipe is vegan and gluten-free but can be altered to suit individuals!
I love making everything from scratch bread included it is much more fun than buying it and it is healthier because it doesn’t have any artificial ingredients and is fresh from your oven to your mouth!
In this recipe, we will be using the same dough mixture that we will make, except we will add three different ingredients that take your bread to a new level!
I will be using almond flour and water nonetheless these two ingredients can be altered to Normal flour and milk.
Ingredients:
- 1 package active dry yeast
- 2 & 1/4 cups warm water – You can mix a 1 & 3/4 cup of hot water to 1/2 cup cold water- or warm milk.
- 3 tablespoons sugar – I used 1.5 tablespoon sugar and 1.5 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 tablespoons canola oil
- 6 & 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 Tablespoon of rosemary
- 3 tablespoons of Sumac
- 2 tablespoons of garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1 green hot pepper cut into circles
- 1/2 cup of olive oil
Method:
In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Add the sugar, salt, oil and 3 cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough. Keep kneading until smooth and elastic, 8-10 minutes. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled about 1-1/2 hours.Punch dough down. Place in three greased pans. Cover and let rise, 30-45 minutes. At that time we will make three mixtures first one will contain rosemary, olive oil and a sprinkle of salt. The second one will contain sumac and olive oil. The third one will contain Tomato paste, garlic powder and Hot pepper slices. Spread each mixture on the dough. Bake at 375° for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pans to wire racks to cool.
Until next time, Crave the dish…
