Envision yourself having authentic Mexican comfort foods in the elevated, upbeat retro-style dining room and patio that overlooks the pearl. Thanks to chef Richard Sandoval, internationally known as “The Father of Modern Mexican Cuisine”, Isla Mexican Kitchen has enabled you to experience just that.
I had the chance to try this lovely restaurant twice and in both time they didn’t disappoint. Mexican food has been one of my favourite cuisines for a long period of time now, probably because, this cuisine is one of the cuisines that enhances the use of spices and the mix of flavours that infuse and tingle your taste buds, Isla offered just that.
The whole ambience of the restaurant is very welcoming and comforting, they offer a large area of seating outdoors on the terrace as well as that, they have an indoor seating. They also offer a private dining room for meetings or parties. So if you are looking for a place to hold your next meeting this is the place!
Something that amazed me about this place is the fact they have live music every weekend at around 6 so if you are into the idea of dining with a bit of cha cha in the background this is the place to be, I mean you are getting a good view, a reasonable price, comforting food and good music what more can you ask for?
The food as mentioned earlier was infused with flavours in both times I went, my tummy was extremely satisfied here is what I had:
Loaded Nachos
Shrimp Ceviche 
Fajita 

Chicken Tacos 
Mariscada 

Beef Tacos 



Queso Fundido 

Churro split & a cup of cappuccino
I also had the chance to check out their kitchen, meet their lovely chefs and witness some live cooking!
The two key elements that should exist in any restaurant, in my opinion, are good food and good staff/service and Isla has both. Something worth mentioning is the fact they have some vegetarian and vegan dishes for anyone who is following that lifestyle.
I rate them a 4.5/5, although everything was great, I’m a strong believer that there is always room for improvements!
