This Friday, as opposed to that last Friday, Bring your BBQ to the Beach, was gloomy so I decided to have a brunch because what is better than stuffing your face in that weather!
I visited a restaurant called Blue in the Movenpick hotel. This restaurant serves regular menu dishes throughout the week but on Friday they throw a brunch buffet for a competitive price of 150 QR inclusive of drinks, which if you live here you would know that is a bargain for a brunch at the five-star hotel, hence I didn’t have high expectations for that buffet. Nevertheless, this place exceeded all the minimal expectations I had by a mile.
The buffet included different international delights with a selection of meat cuts and Oriental sushi. It also included live cooking stations which I LOVE because I get to decide what ingredients go into my food.
I can honestly say Blue is now one of my favourite restaurants here in Doha because if you anything about me you will know that I’m obsessed with sushi, Fine Art made easy – Sushi Cake, Sumo Sushi & Bento, so when a buffet has sushi and it tingles my taste buds that restaurant is automatically a favorite.
An assortment of different types of sushi, they had two vegetarian options as well.
A Caprese salad
A corn salad
A crab salad & A pasta salad – both taste heavenly.
There was a large variety of different types of salads and seafood appetizers.
Ouzi rice with cuts of lamb
My plate – includes some grilled steak & lamb chops, a piece of salmon with lemon & herbs, some of the ouzi rice, and a piece of broccoli
My assortment of sushi, it started raining at that point (you can see some droplets of rain on the table)!
Some cheesecakes – They were incredible if you visit you need to have some!
A variety of desserts to choose from.
I believe those are called Legaimat – they are those doughy balls that are fried and dunked in sugar syrup – Amazing!
The ultimate dessert that has to be at every buffet – a chocolate fountain.
The whole ambiance of the place is amazing it has an outdoor terrace which views a green garden and the famous torch tower and let’s be honest in this weather, which we get once a year, you should stay outside.
I rate this place a solid 4.5/ 5 definitely worth visiting again!
Just before you leave, I missed an opportunity to meet a fellow food blogger who texted me after to share with me that he saw me but was unsure if it was actually me, I wish I got to meet him as it would’ve been a nice chance to have a chat and get to know each other away from the blogging world. He is an amazing food blogger that I think you guys should check out.
